You Will Receive Power (Tongues)

For generations man has longed to fly, but until the law and power of aerodynamics had been discovered, the flight of man remained a dream. Once realised however, the world was never the same as mankind reached potential never thought of.

When Father sent his Holy Spirit on Pentecost, the world was never the same, as His people could now apply His spiritual aerodynamic laws, “the law of the Spirit of life!” Be blessed by this message that unpacks an amazing truth, for all willing to appropriate.

Scripture References

Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”  (NIV)

Romans 8:26-27
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.  (NIV)

1 Corinthians 14:4, 18, 39 & 22
Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church.
18 I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you.
39 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.
22 Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy, however, is not for unbelievers but for believers.

John 20:19-22
19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” 20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.

21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.  (NIV)

Luke 24:45-49
45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”  (NIV)

1 Corinthians 12:1 & 27-28
Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed.
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28 And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues.  (NIV)

Ephesians 4:11
11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers…  (NIV)

Ephesians 4:16-18
16 For his “body” has been formed in his image and is closely joined together and constantly connected as one. And every member has been given divine gifts to contribute to the growth of all; and as these gifts operate effectively throughout the whole body, we are built up and made perfect in love.

17 So with the wisdom given to me from the Lord I say: You should not live like the unbelievers around you who walk in their empty delusions.  18 Their corrupted logic has been clouded because their hearts are so far from God—their blinded understanding and deep-seated moral darkness keeps them from the true knowledge of God.  (TPT)
